University Road

Overview[]

University Road is the most important road on University Island. It is divided into two sections, one of which is open to public vehicles and the other is a private road, which has an operating barrier at the entry and exit. The road starts at the intersection with Rainbow Bridge and University Bridge, continues to the roundabout at the Sunshine University bus stop, then links to the private road uphill, passing by X.Y.Zhen College, and finally ends at the North Sunshine University bus terminus.

This road has only a few intersections: one is located near the entrance to the private road, which connects to Central Axis, and another is the roundabout near the Sunshine University bus stop, which links to Campus Road.

Design[]

The road has two lanes in each direction throughout and is the only route that connects to other islands. The uphill section is a private road, which is accessible only to route U47 and other non-franchised buses.

North Sunshine University bus terminus is located at the end of the road in the center of the island, with the X.Y.Zhen College bus stop serving both directions on the private road.

Currently, routes via University Island must use this road to access Sunshine University and only route U47 uses the private section of the road.

Usage Status[]

University Road receives moderate usage throughout the day, with the highest activity occurring between the University bus stop loop and the intersection with the two bridges to other islands. The private section experiences low usage due to the limited amount of traffic permitted to drive there.
