Sunshine Islands is often hit by typhoons in summer. Typhoons are dangerous and may cause injuries and fatalities, hence special traffic arrangements will be effective during typhoons based on typhoon signal hoisted to ensure the safety of buses, bus drivers and passengers.
Note that if a typhoon signal 8 will be hoisted, higher ridership will be expected within 45 minutes after the announcement so due to large amount of passengers are returning home.

Road Closures[]
Central - Western Bridge[]
Due to strong wind, the carriageways on the bridge deck of Central - Western Bridge will be closed to traffic. All vehicles and bus routes using the Bridge will be diverted to the carriageway tunnels at the lower deck of the bridge during typhoon signal 8 or above [1]. Due to the road design, the Central - Western Interchange bus stop will be cancelled.
Desire Bridge[]
When the wind speed on the bridge is higher then 40 km/h, Desire Bridge will be closed to buses, motorbikes and trucks. Refer to Special traffic arrangements at strong wind for the bus route diversion details. When the wind speed is higher than 65km/h, Desire Bridge will be closed.
Bus Service Changes during Typhoon Signal 8 or above[]
When there are typhoons or storms impacting Sunshine Islands, and the typhoon signal 8 is hoisted, all routes will be still operating for short period to allow passenger to return home safely. However, frequency on different routes may be altered concerning safety of drivers or staffs. Heavier ridership are expected on busier services.
Most routes will be suspended after 45 minutes the typhoon signal 8 hoisted.
A few routes will still provide special services with a different routing than usual if conditions permit when typhoon signal 8 or above is hoisted. All routes operated during typhoon will have a prefix 'Y' added to their original route number. Services of these routes will be suspended when weather conditions threaten the safety of the buses, or roads are blocked.

Unauthorized routes[]
During a typhoon on 31 July 2019, 475 was still in service, Both HZSI and CSB operated this special service, but the route of the two companies were totally different due to the safety policy of staff was different from another company.
The routing of CSB was same as usual, except running in a circular basis and terminate at Senpai Shopping Center. While the routing of HZSI is yet to be confirmed.

Y475 is an unauthorized and a dangerous route as there are big winds on Leafy Road and Senpai Road, CSB and HZSI have received a warning each for operating it afterwards.
- Since this is an illegal route, passengers may need to bear the consequences for riding this route themselves. For example, they may not get insurance compensation when the bus is involved in a traffic accident.
Between Zone 6 and Other Zones[]
Service will be suspended roughly 45 minutes after typhoon signal no. 8 or higher is hoisted. (see Zone 6 above)
After typhoon signal 8 is cancelled[]
Services will resume normally when the typhoon signal hoisted is lowered to signal No.3, and the roads are safe and cleared.
Routes will be diverted and route suspensions may continue if the roads are still blocked.
