Central Highway[]

Central Highway is a trunk road in Central that forms Strategic Route 1 in part. It takes the form of a semi-limited-access road beginning on Moon Island Bypass near Northern Interchange, and ending at Southern Central Road, via Central and Southern.

The highway is mix of ground and elevated road. Except the road sections at Central near Bird Bridge, most of the sections are elevated. At the Southern section of this highway, there implement a speed limit of 80 km/h, while the Central section is 60 - 70 km/h.

Exits and Road Intersections[]

Central Highway is a dual-carriageway road with 2 lanes on each side throughout. To ensure fast travel times, there are no signalled intersections along the road, but only on- and off-ramps. In total, there are 2 entrances and 3 exits along the road. The two midway entrances of the highway on both directions, they all locate at Verizon Road and Middle Road in Central.

Usage Status[]

This road is mainly used by vehicles to bypass Central to reach Southern Central Road or Moon Island Bypass, and then Leafy - Central Tunnel or Western Harbour Tunnel, more quickly. As a result, it receives moderate usage throughout the day, mostly by commuters from North Island and Eastmallow travelling to Southern and Central as well as Zone 1 - Zone 7 traffics.
