This route has the same terminus with route 475 at both ends. However, they have completely different routings. This route operates via Senpai, Kamaya, Southern, Central and North Island while route 475 operates via East Door, Rainbow, Eastmallow and North Island (the two only share stops within Eastmallow and part of North Island).

This route provides a direct link between the main business districts of Zone 4 & 7, hence having high ridership at most times. As route 472 also follows the routing of local services in both zones, passengers may get on in Kamaya and Central and travel within either zone.
