Inter-zone route 471 is a bus route in Sunshine Islands, which is served by Forever Transit and City Scape Bus, travelling between Norton Town Center and Rainbow Estate Complex, via Central and Alexander.
This route only runs during Sunshine Marathon, as a replacement of Route 171 when some roads, such as the westbound lanes of Western Harbour Tunnel, are closed due to Marathon race. However, the full fare wasn't reduced for trips towards Norton. Passengers travelling towards Zone 1 will have to transfer to the Sunshine Islands Metro or to other routes at Zone 7 Interchange or in Central while this route is running.
CSB buses serving this diversion are signed as route 171 before Z7 Interchange, which then after the EDS would change the terminus to Norton Town Center, however, drivers may display a window card with the appropriate route number or diversion information if necessary.

Usage Status[]
This route has a similar passenger base to the original route 171 in Zone 7, as most passengers from Alexander and East Door still take this route to interchange at Zone 7 Interchange. For crossing the harbor, the eastbound direction serves only Norton Town Center and a few stops at Moon Island, resulting in fewer passengers boarding. Additionally, in the westbound direction, this route spills passengers at Central onto routes 473 and 476, and with a higher fare, very few passengers choose to transfer to this route for Zone 4. Only few of the passengers travel to North Island due to its smaller passenger base, similar to the situation with route 475.
Buses also run express within North Island, bypassing all stops on Norton Road, therefore, people travelling to most stops on North Island have to transfer to other routes at Norton Town Centre.
Controversy[]
Due to its parent route, Route 171, often becoming full by the time it reaches Central, as well as high demand for inter-zone bus services at Alexander during rush hours, some players have suggested that Route 471 should become a regular rush-hour route in order to alleviate passengers at Bird Bridge and Zone 7 Interchange.

- This is the only route which have different full fare for both directions.
- This route is also the only public route to run as an express service within North Island, as it bypasses all local stops along Norton Road.
