Zone 4 route 47 is operated by FT Central Connect, travelling between Sun Central Street and Norton Town Center via Southern, Eastmallow and North Island Hill.
History[]
- On 14 April 2018, 47 started its service, then running between China/Japanese Street and North Island Estate.
- On 30 January 2019, South Central Road tunnel (now name as Southern Central Road tunnel) was opened, eastbound trips have been travelled via the tunnel.
- On 31 January 2019, Sunshine Road rebuilt bridge is opened, eastbound trips have been travelled via that bridge.
- On 4 August 2019, Sunshine Road near Central Hospital is rebuilt, stop location was changed.
- On 12 November 2019, route modified, this route now stops at Johnson Market instead of Johnson Garden for China/Japanese Street direction journeys.
- On 9 December 2019, additional bus stop at Southern Market for China/Japanese Street direction journeys, and The Southern for North Island Estate bound journeys.
- On 13 December 2019, North Island Garden South Tower Stop was renamed as North Island Estate Shopping Centre, Stop location was also changed.
- On 20 June 2020, the route was extended from North Island Estate to Norton Town Center.
- On 13 January 2022, Sunshine Square was removed.
- On 1 June 2024, Panorama Heights were added for both directions. Moon Island Bypass (now name as Central Bridge) and Central Fire Station were cancelled for Norton direction journeys. Service hours has been adjusted as well. The operator of the route was changed to Sunshine Islands Bus.
- On 28 June 2024, the operator of the route changed to FT Central Connect.

Usage Status[]
In contrast to Route 46, Route 47 provides a direct link between Southern and Eastmallow, as well as providing a cheaper option to go from Eastmallow to North Island in contrast to Route 475. Route 47 also serves as a shuttle bus to and from Sunshine University, as it is the cheaper option for Eastmallow and North Island residents to commute to Sunshine University in contrast to Route 148 or Route 475. Because of all these reasons, Route 47 serves as a crucial trunk route for North Island and Eastmallow residents, leading to high passenger counts as many take this route for their commutes to Sunshine University or Central business area.
